The CCG has issued the following statement to provide further information on the situation regarding Corby Urgent Care Centre:
We are working to ensure that the Urgent Care Centre will not close and that staff who deliver the services will continue after 31 March 2017, where necessary, in the employment of an alternative provider - as is the usual position when a service provision transfers.
It is unfortunate that Lakeside + have chosen to publicly raise what is a contractual dispute between Lakeside + (in its capacity as a corporate entity) and the CCG, and in a way in which does not accurately reflect all of the underlying details or issues in dispute. Lakeside+ has made a number of claims on which the CCG and their legal advisors do not agree.
Our focus remains on upholding the values of the NHS (including our duty to ensure that NHS funding is spent appropriately) and in ensuring the provision of healthcare for the people of Corby.
The Urgent Care Centre was brought into existence as a result of the support and funding of Corby and Nene CCGs and we will ensure its future.
In the meantime, we confirm that we will share news of future arrangements for delivery of the services at the Urgent Care Centre as soon as possible.
