Corby CCG's Older Person's Health Forum aims to give over 50s an opportunity to find out about local health and social care services and engage on a range of topics including information on how to stay healthy.
The Forum also gives older people in Corby as well as the local NHS the opportunity to have a two-way conversation and help to influence and shape services in Corby.
The meetings are free of charge and open to anyone over 50, so please bring along any friends, family or colleagues who may be interested in attending.

The session started with a presentation by Sara Earl from Corby Borough Council on home energy awareness, Karina Wearmouth from EMAS gave an update on the role of the Frail and Elderly Liaison Officer and Debbie Stanley from NHS Corby CCG presented the CCG’s commissioning intentions.

There were talks from Lakelands Hospice, Care & Repair Northamptonshire, and the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) team from Kettering General Hospital.
Lakelands Hospice spoke about the services they offer in Corby for patients with long term conditions.
Care & Repair Northamptonshire are a voluntary organisation which offers services to a range of patients to keep their homes warm, safe and secure. Representatives from the organisation spoke about their range of services, some of which are free depending on eligibility. They can often help with repairs and maintenance on homes such as fitting key safes, grab rails and safety equipment.
The Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) team from Kettering General Hospital gave a talk about respiratory illness and what can be done to improve it.

The session started with a short chair aerobics session from Rachel Ritchie. It was followed by Sharon Hampton from Northamptonshire Diabetes multi-disciplinary team discussing diabetic foot awareness and sharing general footcare advice.
